The calls for Johnson Ayine to be appointed the Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party in the Upper East Region are getting heightened day by day.

First to make that call was a pro-NPP group known as ‘Young Communicators Group’. The group, during a press release, stated the qualities of Mr. Ayine as someone who is hardworking, sociable, loyal, passionate, and up to the task as far as communication is concerned.

Due to the above traits, the Deputy Regional Communications Director of the NPP has enjoyed the support of personalities with different backgrounds, including supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) because of his knowledge of wide-ranging issues as far as the governance of the country is concerned.

After the regional executive elections, many people have called for Mr. Ayine to be considered the substantive Director of Communications for the Upper East Region.

The opinion of these personalities, notable members of the NPP is the fact that the outspoken communicator can best lead the gallant communicators in the region considering the fact the party will go into the 2024 elections with the intention of breaking the 8-year power chain.

As difficult as it is for well-meaning members of the party to throw their weight behind interested persons for the position, the General Secretary of the NPP, John Boadu said, for someone to be considered as a Director of Communications of a political party, the person must possess the qualities bestowed by Mr. Ayine.

“I am told he is doing wonderfully well. He’s put his request before the newly elected regional executive officers and wants to be considered the substantive director. I leave it with the judgment of the region but as you can acknowledge, he has been out there. This work comes with passion, loyalty, and hard work. If you don’t have that, you cannot. As he [John Ayine] sits here, nobody pays him for the work that he is doing. People see him as talking on the radio and think that he has a lot of money. Not to talk about me, people think that I have Central Bank in my house.”

“So, if they make a request to him, [Mr. Ayine] he must be able to fulfill those requests. I have been in this situation and I know how difficult it is particularly speaking on behalf of a party. When it is in opposition, it is a bit better but in government, I know the challenges he has been into”, John Boadu stated.

On his part, Mr. Ayine thanked the General Secretary for the support he has enjoyed from him over the years upon his assumption of office as Deputy Director of Communications for the Upper East Region.

For the NPP to break the 8-year power chain, Mr. Ayine said the party needs the likes of John Boadu who is hardworking and passionate about his work to steer the affairs of the party.

The Upper East Regional Deputy Communications Director of the NPP entreated appointees to properly arm communicators of the party with the requisite information to properly propagate government policies and the agenda of the party for the understanding of the masses.
