Scores of people join Regional Sports Authority’s health walk in Bolgatanga

The 2022 maiden health walk has been held in the Upper East Regional Capital, Bolgatanga.

The health walk was put together by the Upper East Regional Sports Authority, in collaboration with the Regional Coordinating Council. It took place on Saturday 20th August, 2022.

The exercise was organized with the aim to build unity and social cohesion among the staff of the agencies and departments within the region. There was also free medical screening for the participants who showed up for the health walk.

The health walk started from the Bolgatanga Sports Stadium. Participants then moved through the Bolga-Seo Bongo road, joined the Bolga hospital and then the main Navrongo Bolga road. There was a brief stop at Shell Fuel Save opposite the High court to welcome the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu. The walk later ended at the Mobil Astro Turf field where the participants were led through aerobics.

The Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu delivering his speech said commented on the new friendships and networks that had been built through the process.

Mr. Stephen added that Upper East Region remains a safe place, thus, workers should continue to commit to their work and ensure the development of the region.

Mr. Stephen, while speaking about the security of the region encouraged heightened personal security and high collaborative efforts between communities and the security apparatus to ward off the worrying terrorist activities in neighbouring countries.

The exercise was attended members of the Ghana Fire Service, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana Customs Authority and the Eleven(XI) Mechanized Battalion (Abilba) and a host of others.
