The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has increased monthly pension payment by 20 percent effective January 2016.
A statement issued by Ms Evangeline Amegashie, SSNIT Corporate Affairs Manager stated that the latest increment means the minimum wage for current pensioners will increase to ₵296.89 from ₵230.00.
The statement added that “all fresh pensioners from January will receive a new monthly pension of ₵276.00”.
