Ghana’s Grammy award nominee Rocky Dawuni has touted his achievement of raising Ghana’s flag high on the international stage but bemoaned the inability of many Ghanaian reggae songs to attract patronage by other nationals.

The “In Ghana” hitmaker hails from Northern Ghana but was born and raised in Tema, Michel camp. The U.S based Ghanaian international reggae musician whose 6th studio recording album ‘’Branches of the Same Tree’’ made him the first Ghanaian to be nominated in the most prestigious awards festival in the world competing in the Best Reggae Album category with four topmost Jamaican musicians including Jah cure, Morgan heritage, Barrington Levy and Luciano.

Rocky Dawuni whose song ‘’shine the light’’ tops the billboard top 20 charts sequencially, having toured around the world disclosed in an interview with Worshipper on A1 Radio that though Ghanaian musicians are  really doing a great job, their music is pretty much absent on U.S radio stations.

He reiterated that, though most of them travelled to the U.S to perform at various programmes, their songs mostly do not attract other nationals.

He said at the moment he represent Ghana on international platforms, which is not far from the truth because his Grammy nomination is a clear indication of a determined minded musician whose songs are widely accepted across the globe.
