Ace radio presenter and disc jockey with A1 Radio, DJ Phatbone, the Five Star General, has said the popular song ‘Star(Benge)’ by Ghanaian-based ‘frapop’ rapper, Soorebia would have performed better if the musician allowed enough time to pass between the releases of ‘K33k3’ and ‘Star’.

In DJ Phatbone’s opinion, the musician and his management should have held off on the release of the second song.

“Soorebia should have waited long enough before releasing K33k3 because the release of the K33k3 song affected the performance of the Star(Benge) tune.”

Known for his dexterity on radio in the Upper East Region, DJ Phone cited Kuami Eugene’s case as an example of the same mistake repeated by Soorebia.

He was however full of praise for Soorebia’s ‘Bag of Rocks’ EP saying it was of top-class standards.

“The Bag of Rocks EP comprises hit tracks, which contain the Star(Benge) tune. The time the EP dropped was right and it made waves, but the timing of when Soorebia released the K33k3 song was wrong because it affected the other songs on the EP.”

Dj Phatbone made these comments on A1 Radio’s Sunset Drive. He is known for his honest, in depth criticisms in the entertainment industry in the Upper East Region called on artiste in the region to take a cue from others and release their songs while paying critical attention to the timing.
