Founder of Little Feet Bolga-Project, Azotiyine Sally has charged parents to take serious their wards’ education. She made this call at a gathering of parents and teachers of the Tindonyamga primary school in Tindonmolgo in the Upper East Region Thursday.

Miss Sally, who was making a donation of books, pencils, textbooks and other teaching and learning materials to the school, charged the parents to take the education of their children seriously because education is a better tool to a sustainable nation. She said many parents do not even care whether their wards wear sandals to school or not and this she noted does not speak well of parents.

“Seeing children walking bare footed to school is what motivated me to start this project. If you are a sensitive human being and you see a child walking bare footed to school, it should prick you to do something especially when you are from the place, we are from here and we need to do something to help people. When we see people struggling, when we see pupils walking bare footed or when we see pupils without books, we need to do something” she added.

Little Feet is a non-profitable organization that seeks to help needy children with basic educational materials. The organization which is the brain child of Miss Sally seeks support from individuals who feel the need to put a smile on the faces of under privileged children. Little Feet which was formed in 2015 has already made donations to the Sokabisi and Gambibgo primary schools in the Bolgatanga municipality and will be donating similar items to the Sirigu primary school next month. Miss Sally called on warm hearted people to help the organization put smiles on the faces these children by donating an exercise book, pen, pencil or any of the educational needs of children.

Teachers and parents on their part expressed their gratefulness for the donation and pledged that the items received will be put to good use and called on philanthropists and well-meaning people to emulate the kind gesture of Little Feet.
