Hon. Albert Abongo, Upper East Regional Minister was treated to a mammoth welcome by a massive crowd including faithful of the National Democratic Congress and residents from various parts of the Region especially Bongo.
The Regional Minister who takes over from Hon. James Zugah Tigah was in the company of dignitaries including Regional Executives of the Party, aspiring member of Parliament for the Bongo constituency, Thomas Bawa among others.
Scores of people clad in party colors and vehicles draped with party paraphernalia characterized the streets of Bolgatanga with songs being chanted as Member of Parliament for Bongo constituency was being welcomed by the people of the region.
Hon. Abongo was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama in his first Ministerial reshuffle of the year.
Abongo comes to occupy the seat with a wealth of experience in the political arena having been Member of Parliament for the Bongo constituency for over fifteen years.
