Lawyer Raphael A. Alijina, an aspiring candidate for the Chiana-Paga constituency, says his decision to contest was in response to the people’s calls.
He expressed his delight over the high turnout of delegates who came out to vote in large numbers during the primaries. According to him, the constituency requires a highly competent representative in Parliament, and this is the message that the people have communicated.
Lawyer Alijina expressed satisfaction with the voting process so far, but he remains cautious about the collation of the results. He hopes that the atmosphere during the collation process will be the same as during the voting.
He also commented on the lack of ministerial appointments for the constituency compared to other constituencies. Lawyer Alijina emphasised the importance of having a minister from the constituency to bring development and opportunities for the people.
Lawyer Raphael A. Alijina remains optimistic about his chances in the upcoming elections. He believes that the people will speak through their votes and that he is the best candidate to represent the Chiana-Paga constituency in Parliament.
