House of Fulani chief in Binaba burnt to the ground – Upper East Regional Minister

It is reported that the house of a Fulani chief at Binaba in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region has been burnt down. 

While information around the situation remains scanty, it is one that calls for serious worry and community as well as regional engagement. This is according to the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu. 

He shared these concerns when he spoke to Mark Smith on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show today, June 1, 2023. 

“Our current problem in the region is around the Fulani issues. You know, in this region, it has been one issue to the other. Last night, we got the information about the Fulanis in the Binaba area. In fact, one of the chief, the Fulanis chief’s house was completely burnt down. It is very worrying. These dynamics are not good for the region.”

Mr. Yakubu made a passionate appeal for community members to resort to dialogues and engagements in attempts to resolve conflicts.
