Jonathan Abdallah, the Regional Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress [NDC], has described as welcoming an admission by the Regional Chairman for the NPP that the party was an underdog in the region. He said such comments were agreeable and welcoming to the NDC.
“I was listening to their regional chairman [NPP] when he said they were the underdogs and that they were going to pull surprises. When you speak like this, we can agree with you, but come and rub shoulders with us.”
However, Abdallah questioned how the NPP, according to the Regional Chairman, was going to pull any surprises at a time when the party’s performance was abysmal. He questioned why the party couldn’t pull those surprises in the 2020 election when the economy was much better.
“Why couldn’t they pull surprises in 2020 when the economy was even better? When they were employing left, right, and centre.”
He further noted that the comment by the chairman only points out the dominance in the region.
“What I am saying is that if you admit that you are underdogs and are only praying for a surprise, that is fine. But don’t make it look like you have a way.”
These comments were made while he moderated a discussion on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show.
