The Member of Parliament for Nabdam Constituency in the Upper East Region, Dr. Mark Kurt Nawaane has provided 800 Mathematical instruments and exercise books to basic school pupils in the area.
The initiative according to the MP aims at boosting the pupils’ confidence ahead of their examination as well as enhancing teaching and learning.
“I realise that for me to improve the quality of education among students in this district, I will have to begin from the basic level, hence these pupils. These materials are to give the pupils the idea and confidence to practise their skills especially with the mathematical instruments and the exercise books. So, I have made provision of 800 each mathematical instruments and the exercise books.”
“Aside from that I want to note that three unit class blocks are at various levels of completion at different communities and I will soon be commissioning them to improve the classroom deficit,” he added.
The MP made the donation at the District education directorate in Nabdam District on Monday 17th July 2023.
Receiving the donated items, the District Director of Education, Ms. Macdarlene Wompakeah noted that the items will go a long way to help the pupils especially the teachers to have smooth tuition among themselves.
“I must say that these items, especially the mathematical instruments, will improve the pupils’ calculations.”
She therefore called on teachers and the beneficiary pupils to make use of the donated items.
