The Bolgatanga Central Constituency Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Maxwell Aburiya, said he will officially resign as a politician if the Vice President and the presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, does not win the December 7th, 2024, presidential election.

According to Mr. Aburiya, all indicators are clear: Ghanaians will not vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, John Mahama, over Dr. Bawumia because he has nothing new to offer Ghanaians.

Speaking to Joshua Asaah on the ‘Zina Yela’ show on March 13, 2024, the Bolgatanga Central Constituency Organizer, Mr. Aburiya, said, “Ghanaians want development and will not afford to vote for former president Mahama, who has only four years to rule.”

“Today is the 13th of March, Joshua, mark it down that on the 9th of December 2024, if the EC does not declare Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the President-elect for Ghana, Joshua, I will resign as a politician. I will not do politics again. As for John Mahama, anybody who needs development would not vote for Mahama, who constitutionally has just four years to rule this country. Who will vote for him? After he said four years is not enough for development.”

While highlighting some of the projects the NPP government is currently undertaking in the Upper East region, just like other regions, Mr. Aburiya is confident and optimistic of victory for the NPP on December 7th, 2024.
