Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party in the Bolgatanga Central Constituency of the Upper East Region, Hon. Rex Asanga has called on members of Friends of Adams Mahama (FOAM) a group formed to pursue the vision of late Upper East Regional Chairman to work passionately to vote Ghana out of the problems bedeviling it under the John Mahama led administration.
According to him, if the NPP does not come to power in January 2017, the country will be in trouble because the poor people will die whiles the rich would continue to become rich.
“You know that if the NPP does not come to power in January 2017 this country will be in trouble. This country will be in trouble such that the poor people will die and the rich will continue to become richer. The poor’s children will not go to secondary school and training college and the nursing training where the poor people could go and get allowances to further their education.”
Hon. Rex Asanga was speaking at the inauguration of a group called Friends of Adam Mahama, which has been formed to pursue the vision of the late chairman of the NPP in winning at least seven parliamentary seats and increase the votes for their presidential candidate in the upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.
He questioned the NDC’s understanding of social democracy because although their ideologies represents providing a better life for the people, the country is experiencing the opposite hence the need for Nana Addo to come and salvage the country from the problems bedevilling it.
“Social Democracy means a government that is a friend of the poor. So when we talk about a social democratic government then we are talking about a government that will make healthcare almost free and make education almost free and provide rural infrastructure like schools and clinic so that the poor people will be able to access those services but what do we see?”
He charged the members of the group to work passionately for the growth of the party and towards the party capturing power come November 2016 since they have decided to be in the shoes of the late chairman.
Friends of Adams Mahama is a group formed by friends of the late Upper East Regional Chairman, Adams Mahama to pursue the vision of the late chairman by capturing at least seven of the parliamentary seats in the Upper East Region and increase the votes of their Presidential candidate, Nana Akuffo Addo.
The group intends to focus on targeting constituencies the NPP has over the years not been doing well to canvas for votes for both their parliamentary candidates and their presidential candidate.
