Benjamin Atuasi, Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has denied accusations directed at the NDC regarding the recent burning of a New Patriotic Party (NPP) vehicle in Binduri.

He described these accusations as unfounded and expressed the NDC’s condemnation of any acts of violence or vandalism.

Mr. Atuasi asserted that the NDC is committed to distancing itself from the incident, emphasizing that the party does not condone criminal activities.

He argued that the NDC in Binduri does not need to resort to violence to win elections. He also criticized the suggestion that the NPP’s claims are an attempt to gain electoral sympathy by portraying the vehicle as new and blaming the NDC for its destruction.

According to Mr. Atuasi, the Binduri constituency has experienced various criminal activities.

“The Binduri constituency is a region that has witnessed a lot of crime,” he said, highlighting past incidents where members of the community and NDC officials were attacked in the same area. He noted that they chose to let the law handle the situation without resorting to blame and called for investigations by law enforcement rather than relying on partisan accusations.

“The law should be the one doing investigations and providing evidence,” he said.
