Team Aposs, an alliance of aspirants contesting various executive positions in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bolgatanga Constituency, says it is confident of securing victory in Saturday’s constituency elections.

The team, led by Roger Ayine Aposs, an aspirant for the constituency chairperson position, says its confidence is based on the positive reactions, questions and contributions from delegates during its campaign across the constituency.

Mr. Aposs said the team had engaged delegates throughout the constituency and presented its vision and plans ahead of the polls.

“We are highly confident. We have gone round the whole of the constituency. We have done our campaign. We have sold ourselves very well,” he said.

He added that the responses from delegates during the campaign had strengthened the team’s confidence in its chances of winning the various positions it is contesting.

“Judging from the reactions of the delegates, we are very confident that it will come out well. I’m saying that having gone round and campaigned with the delegates and observed the reactions from the delegates, the questions they ask and the contributions they make towards us, we are very confident that the elections will come forward”, he stated.

Mr. Aposs was speaking when he led members of Team Aposs to hand over a renovated classroom block and a newly constructed kitchen to Nyariga Doone Girls’ Primary School in the Bolgatanga municipality.

A total of 1,415 delegates are expected to cast their votes in the NDC Bolgatanga Constituency elections at the GNAT Hall in Bolgatanga.

Voting is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m., with the Women Organiser and Youth Organiser positions expected to be voted first before voting proceeds to the other executive positions. The exercise is expected to end at 5:00 p.m., after which the results are expected to be declared.

The elections form part of the NDC’s internal processes to elect constituency executives who will steer the party’s affairs and prepare the structures for the next stages of its organisational activities.

Team Aposs is seeking to secure multiple executive positions in the constituency, with Mr Aposs vying for the chairperson position. The outcome of Saturday’s polls will determine whether the alliance’s campaign engagements translate into electoral support from the delegates.
