he New Patriotic Party (NPP) may not be growing in leaps and bounds, as would be the party’s expectation. But nothing else but the internal machinations within the party are to blame.

This is according to the Upper East Regional Chairman of the NPP, Anthony Namoo. Mr. Namoo made these comments when he spoke to A1 Radio’s Mark Smith recently on the Day Break Upper East Show.

“I have been saying and I must repeat that the performance of the NPP is not getting better and better as we expect it because of our own issues,” he said.

Mr. Namoo added that as the party prepares to wrestle power from the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Dr. Kurt Mark Nawaane, there were some within the party who thought that he, Mr. Namoo, would become an incomprehensibly powerful person should the party win the election come December 7, 2024; a situation he describes as unrealistic.

“Some people said, if we [the NPP] won the seat, then I would become powerful. I don’t know if I would be hanging in the skies or not.”

“We have to know that everyone and their destiny. It is not somebody winning that would change my destiny,” he said.

Mr. Namoo flatly denied any suggestion that should the current NPP Parliamentary Candidate, Charles Ndanbon win, he would be the one pulling the strings and controlling affairs.

The Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region, has called on constituency executives, parliamentary candidates, and party supporters to work inclusively to achieve favorable results in the upcoming elections.

He said, “Collectiveness is key. As we approach the elections, we should be seen working together despite our busy schedules. This is not the time for a parliamentary candidate to be going to one place while a constituency chairman goes to another. Irrespective of your individual commitments, you need to find ways to collaborate.”

According to him, working together can lead to electoral victories and foster a sense of unity among party members.
