The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) has announced plans to showcase investment opportunities in the Upper East Region to international investors at the upcoming Invest Ghana Summit in Accra in November 2026.

The Authority says businesses, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders with viable investment projects in the region will have the opportunity to present them for consideration as part of efforts to attract investment and stimulate economic growth.

The Public Relations Officer of GIPA, Zianabu Issah, disclosed this in Bolgatanga during the Authority’s Regional Investment Roadshow, which seeks to identify and document investment opportunities across Ghana’s 16 regions.

According to her, the exercise forms part of GIPA’s Investment Opportunity Mapping Project, which is intended to identify viable projects and package them for presentation to potential investors.

“The purpose for this roadshow is to be able to identify investment opportunities in all the 16 regions. We have done Volta, Oti, Eastern, Western, Western North, the Middle Belt which is Bono, Bono East and Ahafo, and Ashanti. Now we are completing with the five northern regions. We started in Tamale, went to North East and today we are in Bolga,” she said.

Madam Issah explained that investment opportunities identified during the regional engagements would be compiled into a document for presentation at the Invest Ghana Summit.

She encouraged businesses, young entrepreneurs and regional planning officers to take advantage of the initiative by submitting projects with investment potential to the Authority.

“This is not going to be a wasted effort. Any investment project happening within the regions, we are calling on regional planning officers, businesses, even young entrepreneurs with interesting projects to speak to us at GIPA,” she stated.

She further indicated that GIPA was seeking stronger collaboration with Regional Coordinating Councils to identify, package and promote investment opportunities within their respective regions to the international business community.

The Upper East Regional Investment Forum was held under the theme, “Driving Local Investments, Unlocking Regional Potential: Mapping Opportunities and Mobilising Growth in the Upper East Region.”

The engagement forms part of GIPA’s broader efforts to promote investment opportunities beyond Ghana’s major commercial centres and attract investors to projects across the country.
