The deadline for the construction of the Upper East Regional Passport Office has once again been extended, following several missed deadlines. This latest shift in schedule comes despite recent progress on the project. Kennedy Enyan, the project officer, reported notable advancements as the team works diligently to meet the newly communicated deadline.
Mr. Enyan highlighted that the project is currently at the roofing stage, with efforts being intensified to complete both the roofing and the newly added fence wall despite the ongoing rainy season.
“We are now at the roofing level. Since we are in the rainy season, we are doing everything possible to complete the roofing and the fence wall simultaneously. We resumed work on-site about a week ago and are working diligently to meet the target time given to us,” he said.
Construction resumed on-site a week ago, with roofing materials having been ordered from Tema and on their way, while progress on the fence wall continues with machinery accelerating foundation work.
“We are almost done with the blocks for the entire fence wall. As we are in a hurry, we are using a machine to excavate the foundation, and within a week, the fence wall will be underway, followed by the roofing,” Mr. Enyan explained.
Despite the challenges posed by unpredictable weather, Mr. Enyan assured that the team, including electricians, plumbers, and other artisans, is fully prepared to tackle their tasks. Although a precise completion date remains uncertain, the project is now projected to wrap up by November.
Observers visiting the site will find clear evidence of resumed activities, with materials and workers actively engaged. “When anyone comes to the site, they will surely see evidence of our resumed work because we now have materials and workers on site,” Mr. Enyan concluded.
