Former President John Mahama has issued a firm warning to party members and executives, stating that anyone wishing to serve in his administration must commit to absolute transparency and accountability.
Addressing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Campaign Tour in the Greater Accra Region, Mahama emphasized that he would not tolerate corruption under his leadership if he is elected to govern the country in the December 7th elections.
Mahama underscored his commitment to ensuring that no member of his government would engage in corrupt activities. He stressed that those who hope to work with him must first be prepared to uphold the highest standards of integrity.
“Before you accept to work with me come 2025, you must first agree to be accountable and transparent with the good people of Ghana,” Mahama asserted.
The former president reiterated that anyone found engaging in corrupt practices would not be shielded from the law, emphasizing that his administration would prioritize transparency and accountability.
“I have promised Ghanaians that I will be transparent and accountable if they give me the mandate,” he stated. “So I will not shield or allow anyone who is not ready to be accountable to the people to serve under my government.”
Mahama’s message aligns with his broader campaign promise to combat corruption and promote good governance in Ghana. His commitment to these principles is expected to be a key issue in the upcoming elections as Ghanaians consider their options for leadership in the coming years.
