The Upper East Regional Communication Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jonathan Abdallah Salifu, has praised former President Mahama and the NDC for incorporating ten major development projects and initiatives for the Upper East Region in their manifesto.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s ‘Zina Yela’ show, Mr. Abdallah said that the NDC manifesto, titled *Resetting Ghana*, is crucial for addressing Ghanaian problems.

According to the NDC Communication Officer, in addition to national policies that will also benefit the Upper East Region, ten significant projects have been highlighted by the NDC to be implemented directly in the region if elected into office.

If the NDC wins the December 7th election, the promised projects for the region include the construction of an airport, expansion of the Upper East Regional Hospital into a teaching hospital, and the construction of a modern dialysis center at the hospital. Additionally, the plans encompass the expansion of the War Memorial Hospital in Navrongo, the construction of a new hospital in the Bawku enclave, and the completion of Phase II of the Tamne Dam in the Garu District. Other projects include the construction of the Pwalugu Multipurpose Dam, empowering tomato farmers to support the Pwalugu Tomato Factory, and empowering farmers to rear more animals to support the Zuarungu Meat Factory. The manifesto also proposes the establishment of a training college for the BONABOTO area.

Mr. Abdallah expressed enthusiasm for these initiatives, which he believes will transform the region’s infrastructure, healthcare, economy, and education sectors.

“What is in this book is what the people of the Upper East Region told His Excellency Mahama they want if he comes back to power. His Excellency will surely come and implement these promises, and we can’t doubt him because he has done it before. If he comes to office, he will fulfill these commitments for the people of the Upper East Region and Ghana as a whole,” he said.

The manifesto also focuses on completing all roads still under construction in the region and finishing all outstanding E-Blocks, among other initiatives.
