Ayeya Company, a subsidiary of Black Buffalo International known for producing high-quality straw baskets and shea butter products, has made a significant contribution to the Nangodi community in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region.

The company has installed a modern potable water source for the pupils of Nangodi Basic School and the entire community, marking a major advancement in improving access to clean water in the area.

This water project aligns with Ayeya Company’s broader mission to enhance access to safe and clean water, a crucial resource for public health and the overall growth of the communities within its operational areas.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Ayeya Company, Olowo-n’djo Tchala, emphasized the importance of water, stating that it is essential for life and well-being. He dedicated the project to his close friend and business partner, Jubril Akikbola Agoro, who has been a steadfast supporter of his business ventures internationally.

Olowo-n’djo Tchala, a multinational businessman originally from Togo, has been a key player in the shea butter and straw basket industry in Ghana. In February 2024, he established “Ayeya Village” in the Sherigu community, also located in the Upper East Region. This facility processes shea butter and has created employment opportunities for over 600 women, significantly boosting the local economy.

Jubril Akikbola Agoro, a British-Nigerian digital entrepreneur based in the United States and the founder of Passport Heavy, expressed his deep appreciation for Olowo-n’djo’s efforts. He highlighted how their partnership has allowed him to reconnect with his African roots and pledged to continue supporting communities in need. Agoro affirmed his commitment to working tirelessly to secure more support for the people of Nangodi and other underserved communities across Africa.

The ceremony was also attended by Brenda Orelus, a travel journalist from Haiti, and Ackon Berthold Kobina, also known as Wodemaya, a freelance blogger from Ghana. Both expressed their admiration for the initiative and assured the community of their intentions to contribute to similar projects in the future.

The provision of this water source by Ayeya Company is expected to have a lasting positive impact on the health and well-being of the Nangodi community, setting a precedent for corporate social responsibility in the region.

The chiefs and people of Nangodi, including Pognab Natii Kundivi, Queenmother of Nakpalig under the Nangodi Traditional Area, expressed their profound gratitude to Ayeya Company, Olowo-n’djo Tchala, and their international partners for addressing the community’s critical water needs.
