Issifu Mahmoud, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Binduri Constituency, has criticized the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), Abanga Abdulai, for failing to address development issues and contributing to the ongoing unrest in the Bawku area.
In an interview on A1 Radio, Mr. Mahmoud claimed that the MP, who serves as Deputy Minister for Local Government under the Akufo-Addo administration, has failed to use his position to positively affect the situation.
Mr. Mahmoud argued that if the incumbent MP had prioritized development and acted in the constituency’s best interests, he could have influenced peace-building efforts in Bawku, particularly given his office’s direct links to the chieftaincy cabinet.
He asserted that Mr. Abdulai’s actions and inactions have contributed to the ongoing conflict and underdevelopment in the area.
The NDC candidate further urged the people of Binduri to vote against the MP and the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections.
Mr. Mahmoud assured voters that, if elected, he would prioritize development and create job opportunities for the youth in the Binduri Constituency.
He emphasized his integrity and commitment to serving the people, stating that these qualities would drive his efforts to improve living conditions in the area.
He also called on constituents to vote overwhelmingly for the NDC in the 2024 elections to help address the country’s struggling economy, which he believes has been mismanaged by the current administration.
His remarks are part of his campaign to unseat the incumbent MP and bring change to the Binduri Constituency.
