The Zebilla Community and Haven of Love Children’s Foundation in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region came together to celebrate the remarkable achievement of one of their own, Samuel Nana-Bekai Djirackor, CEO of Haven of Love Children’s Foundation.
Samuel Nana-Bekai was recently honored with the JoyNews Impact Maker Award as the Health and Social Welfare Impact Maker, recognizing his tireless efforts to improve the lives of rural communities. At a colorful community durbar held under the theme “Patriotism and the Importance of Peace,” residents of Zebilla and surrounding areas gathered to congratulate him on his well-deserved award.
The young agricultural engineer and founder of Haven of Love Children’s Foundation has made significant strides in enhancing community health, sanitation, climate resilience, and the socioeconomic empowerment of young females in rural areas.
Through his foundation, he has reached over 100 communities, impacting approximately 20,000 children and their parents with essential health services, health insurance renewals, hygiene essentials, and school uniforms. His initiatives have also focused on environmental sustainability, disability screenings, health education, and sensitization talks on health and agriculture-related issues.
The District Chief Executive for Bawku West, Anania Daniel Atampuba, expressed excitement about the young CEO’s victory. The DCE described it as a significant achievement for the organization, the district, and beyond.
“I am happy to be part of the durbar with the Chiefs and people of Bawku West to receive and celebrate the award from Haven of Love Children’s Foundation. In fact, I must say congratulations to them once again for making the district proud. I know that this award is a result of their activities, the impact on society, and the good people of the Bawku West District. I am very happy to be here.”
The JoyNews Impact Maker Award acknowledges Nana-Bekai’s dedication and commitment to creating positive change in the lives of rural residents, particularly in the Bawku West and nearby districts of the Upper East Region.
Over the years, his projects have made a significant impact, improving the health, well-being, and socioeconomic status of community members. Award Winner Nana-Bekai used the opportunity to thank the Chiefs, elders, and the entire district for their support since his arrival in the district years ago as a National Service Personnel. He urged the district to remain peaceful, believing that this will bring more development and unity.
