The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched its campaign for the Talensi constituency, signaling a push for the re-election of John Mahama as President and the election of Daniel Mahama as the parliamentary candidate.
The event took place at Winkogo and was led by the National Chairman of the NDC, Johnson Aseidu Nketiah.
Mr. Nketiah emphasized the unity and commitment among NDC members in Talensi, highlighting the overwhelming support for the parliamentary candidate, Daniel Mahama. He expressed confidence that the constituents would align with the national movement to secure victory for “Mahama and Mahama” in the upcoming December polls.
“The love and support for our candidate is evident,” Mr. Nketiah stated, urging party members to resist any distractions from the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He assured the traditional leaders and the residents that an NDC government would prioritize their developmental needs and aspirations.
Daniel Mahama, addressing the crowd detailed his initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of Talensi’s residents. He highlighted his efforts in providing educational resources to local secondary schools, sponsoring health screenings, and improving access to clean drinking water.
Mr. Mahama reaffirmed his commitment to further developmental projects, including the construction of a starlight market in Winkogo and improving road connectivity in the region.
“My vision is to build on the NDC’s policies to enhance market conditions and infrastructure in Talensi,” he said. Mahama also pledged to work diligently with the next Mahama administration to ensure the completion of key projects, including a police post in Winkogo and the electrification of underserved communities.
The launch attracted a substantial crowd, including notable party figures such as sitting MP and campaign team chairman Hon. B. T. Baba, Deputy National Communication Officer Malik Basintale, and various regional and national executives. Their speeches reinforced the call for solidarity and active participation in the campaign, encouraging constituents to support the NDC’s vision for development.
“Let us work hard to retain our seat and bring the NDC back to power,” urged B. T. Baba, echoing the sentiments shared throughout the event.
