Robert Alibo pledges to bridge educational gaps with 3 innovative learning centers

Robert Alibo, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Talensi Constituency, has unveiled an ambitious vision to revolutionize education in the area.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Mr. Alibo highlighted the urgent need to address gaps in learning, infrastructure, and teaching quality within the constituency.

“My vision for education stems from the glaring gaps in learning and infrastructure. It is disheartening to visit schools where students in Grade Nine cannot read or write,” Mr. Alibo lamented.

He emphasized the importance of tackling these challenges with practical and sustainable solutions, beginning with the establishment of three learning centers in each zone within the constituency.

The proposed learning centers will be staffed with teachers trained and specialized in specific areas of education, creating a model comparable to schools in Ghana’s urban centers. According to Mr. Alibo, these centers will serve as beacons of quality education, fostering literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills among students.

“The centers will not only focus on academics but will also aim to inspire interest-based learning for both teachers and students. Education should be engaging and exciting, not a burden,” he explained.

Mr. Alibo expressed concern over the lack of foundational literacy among students, attributing it to inadequate teaching resources and poor infrastructure.

“If we do not tackle the root causes, the education system will continue to fail our children,” he said. He believes the learning centers will serve as hubs for knowledge acquisition and provide a conducive environment for both teaching and learning.

Mr. Alibo also called on stakeholders, including local authorities, parents, and non-governmental organizations, to collaborate to ensure the success of this initiative. He stressed that the quality of education in Talensi should match that of schools in the nation’s capital.

This education-centered vision aligns with Mr. Alibo’s broader developmental goals for Talensi, which include improving access to quality healthcare, fostering economic empowerment, and enhancing infrastructure.

If elected, Robert Alibo’s innovative approach to education, his followers say, could significantly transform Talensi’s educational landscape, equipping the next generation with the skills and knowledge needed to compete nationally and globally.
