A beacon of hope and excitement has emerged for the students of Atampintin D/A Primary School in the Bongo District of the Upper East Region, Ghana, as Cosmic Mother of Bongo in France, a non-profit organization founded by Haijah Azu Najat, a Ghanaian citizen living in France, has pledged to renovate the school’s dilapidated infrastructure.
The Atampintin D/A Primary School has been in a state of disrepair for years, with the entire school, from kindergarten to primary block, looking precarious. The lack of furniture has forced many students, particularly those in lower primary and kindergarten, to sit on the floor during lessons.
Haijah Azu Najat, founder and CEO of Cosmic Mother of Bongo in France, recently visited the school and expressed her deep sadness at the deplorable conditions. “It’s unfortunate that our future leaders are expected to learn in such an environment. What are our leaders doing? I am very sad,” she lamented.
During her interaction with the students, Haijah Najat assured them that she would seek partnerships with friends and other organizations to help renovate the school.
“I will not give date or time but I will come and support them with good learning environment for our children so they should expect me in the next few months” This pledge has brought a glimmer of hope to the students, teachers, and the entire community.
Haijah Azu Najat, in her visit, also brought some excitement to the students by sharing soft drinks and biscuits to all the students with great motivational speeches to them.
Some community members were grateful for Haijah Azu Najat’s commitment to giving back to her hometown. According to them, her selfless act is a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives and the impact one person can have on the lives of others.
