The Upper East Regional Communications Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has extended heartfelt congratulations to H.E. John Dramani Mahama on his decisive victory in the December 7, 2024, elections, declaring him President-Elect of the Republic of Ghana.

In a press release signed by the Regional Communications Officer, Jonathan Abdallah Salifu, the bureau lauded Mahama’s commitment to national development and his vision to “reset and build the Ghana we want,” which, they said, earned him the overwhelming confidence of the electorate.

The bureau also celebrated Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang’s historic achievement as Ghana’s first female Vice President-Elect. “Her election is a beacon of hope and progress for gender inclusivity and empowerment, inspiring countless women and girls across Ghana and beyond,” the statement read.

The NDC marked a significant milestone in the Upper East Region, securing all 15 parliamentary seats. The bureau described this achievement as a testament to the party’s dedication and the trust Ghanaians have placed in the NDC.

“This historic feat underscores the tireless efforts of our parliamentary candidates, their campaign teams, and the entire party machinery,” the statement emphasized.

The press release expressed gratitude to party members, branch executives, constituency and regional campaign teams, and elders for their sacrifices and unity during the campaign period. “Despite the challenges faced, we demonstrated the enduring spirit of the NDC and the strength of collective effort,” it noted.

The NDC urged the newly elected Members of Parliament to prioritize serving their constituents and delivering on the transformative policies outlined in the party’s Resetting Ghana manifesto. The statement concluded with a pledge of unwavering support for H.E. John Dramani Mahama and Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as they begin the task of restoring hope, rebuilding the economy, and creating opportunities for all Ghanaians.
