The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Builsa South, Daniel Kwame Gariba, has emphasized the importance of ensuring a smooth transition as he approaches the final days of his tenure.

Mr. Gariba, who contested the Member of Parliament seat under the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stated that his focus remains on fulfilling his duties as DCE until the next government assumes office.

Despite his electoral defeat, he highlighted the need to maintain stability in the district and prepare for the incoming administration. He reiterated that his priority in the coming days is to ensure that his office and responsibilities are handed over without complications. “I still have a few days in office, so I have to go back. We have to make sure that things are in the right place for the next government to take over.”

Mr. Gariba also addressed the recent attacks on his official residence, noting that the situation had calmed down and that he would return to ensure everything was in order for the next DCE. He stressed the importance of leaving behind a well-organized office to allow the new leadership to operate smoothly and avoid unnecessary challenges. “Calm has returned, and I will be going back to make sure things are put in the right order for whoever takes over as DCE, so that when the person comes, there won’t be too much difficulty or issues to handle.”

He further acknowledged a common critique faced by outgoing leaders—that their successors are sometimes left with unresolved challenges. However, he expressed his commitment to making the transition as seamless as possible to ensure the next DCE can begin their tenure without significant hurdles. “When it happens that way, they sometimes say that you did not do a good job. You must make it easy for the one who is coming to take over to work without any difficulty,” he said on A1 Radio.
