Speaking in Bolgatanga during his ‘Thank You Tour’ in the Upper East Region, President Mahama proudly noted that the region is well represented in his government, citing notable individuals he appointed to serve in key positions.

“This region has been the source of some of the country’s finest human resources, producing distinguished leaders who have played pivotal roles in every aspect of our national history. Even at the heart of government today, the Upper East is very well represented by distinguished sons and daughters whose dedication continues to shape our national progress.”

According to the President, the Upper East Region boasts several high-ranking officials in government, including Hon. Mahama Ayariga, who serves as the Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business in Parliament, representing Bawku Central. Dr. Dominic Ayine is the Attorney General and Minister for Justice, representing Bolgatanga East. Hon. Isaac Adongo serves as the Chairman of the Finance Committee of Parliament and is also a Member of the Board of Directors at the Bank of Ghana. Hon. Clement Abass Apaak, the MP for Builsa South, holds the position of Deputy Minister of Education, while Hon. He also acknowledged the developmental gap between the South and the North and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to implementing policies and initiatives aimed at bridging these disparities.
