The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Regional Youth Organizer, Salahudeen Musah, has alleged that Dr. Dominic Ayine, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga East, won the 2024 parliamentary elections out of sympathy rather than merit.

Speaking on A1 Radio, Musah argued that the NDC candidate’s victory was not a reflection of competence, but rather the result of emotional appeals and propaganda tactics.

According to the Youth Organizer, the NPP presented a more capable and youthful candidate, Mathew Amoah, who was ready to serve the constituency effectively.

However, he claimed that Dr. Ayine leveraged his age and emotional sentiment to sway voters. “He used his age and other propagandist tactics to win the elections. We are now waiting to see what development he will bring to the people of Bolgatanga East,” he stated.

The NPP official further urged party supporters to remain committed, expressing confidence that the party would reclaim the seat in the 2028 elections.

“We are resolute, and the NPP will bounce back stronger. For now, we are watching to see what Dr. Ayine will deliver for the people,” he added.

Meanwhile, the NPP says it is working to strengthen its grassroots support in preparation for the next general elections, with the aim of presenting a more compelling case to voters in 2028.
