Charles King Luu, the lead convener of a group of aggrieved National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth in Talensi, has insisted that their allegations against the District Chief Executive (DCE) nominee, John Millim Naabwomya, are valid—despite admitting they lack concrete evidence to substantiate their claims.
Speaking exclusively to A1 Radio, Luu stated, “We believe in the allegations that the current DCE nominee is not competent. Yes, we don’t have proof, but we believe in the allegations.”
His remarks come a week after he and his group held a press conference accusing Naabwomya of having close ties with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), warning that such an affiliation could harm the NDC’s prospects in the 2028 elections.
However, Michael Nangena, an NDC member responding to the allegations, dismissed Luu’s claims as baseless and questioned his credibility.
“The spokesperson of the aggrieved youth is not only propagating lies, but he is also not a youth to begin with,” Nangena retorted.
He further challenged Luu’s loyalty to the NDC, asking, “If he is truly a committed member of the NDC, he would not be peddling such falsehoods.”
The controversy has sparked tension within the NDC in Talensi, with some party members calling for evidence-based discourse while others remain skeptical of the nominee’s political neutrality.
The NDC leadership is yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
