The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region remains strong and united despite setbacks in the 2024 general elections, according to the party’s Regional Youth Organizer, Salahudeen Musah.
Reflecting on the party’s current state during an interview on A1 Radio, Mr. Musah expressed confidence in the NPP’s organizational strength and internal discipline. He noted that efforts had been made to address actions that went against the party’s interests during the election period. Disciplinary measures, including suspensions, were taken against members found to have acted contrary to the party’s goals. These actions, he explained, were necessary to maintain order and serve as a deterrent to others who might consider undermining the party.
“There were some suspensions that were carried out to serve as a deterrent to others who might have, at some point, campaigned against the party or engaged in other acts.”
The youth organizer emphasized that these corrective actions were in response to specific infractions, helping to restore a sense of responsibility and discipline within the party’s ranks. He believes the steps taken have contributed to placing the party on a more stable path as it looks ahead to future political battles.
With internal issues addressed and unity reinforced, Mr. Musah expressed optimism about the NPP’s prospects in the region, suggesting that the party is well-positioned to rebound and perform strongly in upcoming elections.
“For me, judging from that and looking at the way things currently stand, I think the party is on strong footing. The party is in good shape, and nothing significant will go against us.”
