The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the opening of a new premium registration centre in the Upper East Region, aimed at improving access to expedited Ghana Card registration services for residents in the area. The new centre is located at Ministry Block C in Bolgatanga, sharing premises with MASLOC, and will begin operations from 5th May 2025.
This development forms part of the NIA’s broader effort to extend premium registration services to five additional regions across the country, including the Upper West, North East, Central, and Greater Accra regions. The initiative is designed to offer first-time registration, card replacement, and personal information update services on an appointment basis.
The Upper East Premium Centre, with a digital address UB-0034-3625, will serve individuals who prefer quicker processing times for their national ID needs. Interested applicants are required to book appointments online via register.nia.gov.gh, as walk-in services will not be available at this centre.
In a related development, the NIA has relocated its premium registration centre at the Head Office in Shiashie to the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), Legon City Campus, with digital address GR-076-0326.
The NIA is urging all eligible applicants in the Upper East Region and other designated areas to take advantage of this opportunity for fast and convenient issuance of the Ghana Card.
The announcement was signed by Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, Acting Head of the Corporate Affairs Directorate at the NIA, on 29th April 2025.
For further enquiries, residents of the Upper East Region can contact the premium centre directly at 0244179956.
This move by the NIA is expected to reduce congestion at district offices and ensure more efficient service delivery across the country.
