Ophelia Philomena Aovare has officially declared her intention to contest for the position of Regional Women’s Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region.
Miss Aovare is currently serving as the Women’s Organizer for the Navrongo Central Constituency.
Through her office, she has empowered women through microfinance initiatives and skills training in soap making, bead making, tie-dye, and other vocational disciplines, all aimed at enhancing women’s economic independence.
Politically, Madam Ophelia Aovare has served both at the regional and national levels. She has been a member of the Regional Research and Intelligence Committee and the Gender Focal Person for the NPP on the UNDP-JPASS Project. Since 2015, she has also served as a TESCON Patroness, demonstrating her long-standing dedication to the party and its youth.
As a potential Regional Women’s Organizer, Madam Aovare intends to focus on “Empowering Women” through grassroots mobilization, strategic engagement, and effective collaboration. Her agenda includes driving economic growth and women’s empowerment by implementing programs tailored to the region’s unique needs and advocating for policies and resources to support women’s development.
Some NPP stalwarts have expressed confidence in Madam Aovare’s passion, expertise, and dedication, believing she possesses the qualities needed to excel in the role. They are calling on party members to rally behind her for a brighter future for the NPP in the region.
