Forty-one aspiring football coaches have successfully completed the Ghana Football Association (GFA) License D Coaching Course held in Bolgatanga, in the Upper East Region of Ghana.
Organized to empower juvenile football club coaches with the essential knowledge and technical skills required to nurture young and talented footballers, the one-week intensive training program focused on the fundamentals of grassroots football coaching.
The course, which ran from June 9 to June 16, 2025, was conducted at the Kurt E.S. Okraku Technical Centre in Winkogo. It was coordinated by Abubakar Damba, with facilitation from Fatawu Salifu, assistant coach of the Black Satellites, ASP Bernice, the national U-16 coach, and Jonathan, a certified License C coach.
With support from the Upper East Regional Football Association (UERFA) led by Chairman Salifu Zida and his executive council members, the training aimed to build a strong foundation for football development in the region.
Participants were equipped with essential coaching techniques, player management strategies, and theoretical knowledge tailored to grassroots football. The course marks a significant step in enhancing the quality of youth football coaching in the Upper East Region.
The newly trained coaches are expected to play a pivotal role in the development of young football talents, contributing to the long-term growth of Ghanaian football from the grassroots level.
