The Member of Parliament for Chiana-Paga, Nikyema Billa Alamzy, has been summoned by the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to explain comments he made about the party’s planned “thank you tour.”
In a letter signed by the party’s Director of Administration, Emmanuel Zumakpe, and copied to the Regional and Constituency Chairmen, as well as the Majority Leader in Parliament, the lawmaker was directed to appear before the FEC on Tuesday, 30th September, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra.
According to the letter, the attention of the party’s leadership was drawn to a widely circulated video recording from GHOne TV, in which Hon. Alamzy was heard questioning the rationale behind the leadership embarking on a “thank you tour” in his constituency. The MP also allegedly made other remarks deemed inconsistent with the position of the party.
The NDC noted that the comments had raised concerns among the party’s leadership and grassroots, hence the invitation to provide clarification and further explanation.
The party emphasized that Hon. Alamzy’s appearance is not only to address his remarks but also to maintain unity and discipline within the ranks as the NDC prepares for future political activities.
By copy of the letter, the NDC’s Upper East Regional Chairman, Alhaji Mumuni Bolnaba, has also been asked to accompany the MP to the meeting.
