The Upper East Regional Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fawzia Yakubu Abagnamah, has claimed that one year of President John Mahama’s leadership has had more impact than the eight-year tenure of former President Nana Akufo-Addo and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking on the Zina Yela show on Bolga FM, Abagnamah highlighted the NDC government’s efforts to ease the cost of living, including the abolition of several taxes introduced under the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.

“These include the 10% withholding tax on lottery winnings, the 1% Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), emission levies on industries and vehicles, VAT on motor vehicle insurance policies, and the 1.5% withholding tax on unprocessed gold by small-scale miners,” she said.

Abagnamah asserted, “One year of His Excellency John Mahama and the NDC in office has seen significant changes in our living conditions, far surpassing the NPP’s eight years.” She added that the party remains committed to improving the welfare of Ghanaians across the country.
