Supporters of Bryan Acheampong say his candidacy in the New Patriotic Party’s January 31 presidential primaries represents a shift toward electoral strategy, inclusiveness and reclaiming political power in 2028.
Raphael Kpinn, Assistant Communications Officer for the Acheampong campaign in the Upper East Region, said delegates must view the primaries as a defining moment for the party’s future.
“Saturday is a referendum on the direction of the NPP,” he said, urging delegates to consider which candidate can reposition the party to regain national support.
According to Kpinn, the party’s focus must move beyond individual ambition toward collective victory.
“All we need come 2028 is power — not personal aggrandizement, not personal fulfillment,” he said. “Bryan Acheampong stands for power for the party.”
He said Acheampong’s strategy includes strengthening party workers and structures to improve the NPP’s image among key groups, including civil society, the media, academia and traders.
“He will ensure that party workers and stakeholders are well-prepared, well-placed and well-developed to carry out the work so that the party is loved across society,” Kpinn said.
He also framed Acheampong as a consensus builder capable of drawing support across internal divides, which he described as necessary to present a strong front in the next general elections.
The NPP’s presidential primaries will determine who leads the party into the 2028 polls as it seeks to rebuild support nationwide.
