The Chief Executive Officer of Norgence IT Solutions, Albert Naa, has described digital media as a powerful tool that can be strategically used to shape perceptions and drive interest in key sectors of the economy.
In an interview on A1 Radio, he highlighted the potential of digital platforms to support national development, particularly in promoting agriculture and industrialization among young people.
He observed that while government policies aimed at advancing agriculture and industry are commendable, more effort is needed to make these sectors appealing to the youth. According to him, current perceptions often focus on the physical hardships associated with farming, which discourages participation.
“Today, we want to do agriculture. We are repositioning ourselves for an industrial revolution. What can we do in the digital space? It is not only about putting policies out. The policies are good—we want them to succeed, and we hope for more. But another way to get people involved is to push content that highlights the positive side of these policies,” he said.
Mr. Naa suggested that stakeholders should actively promote modern farming practices through digital content. Showcasing mechanized agriculture, successful agribusiness ventures, and innovative approaches to farming could help shift mindsets and attract young people.
“Can we show these young people the new farmer who goes to the farm with a pickup? The one who uses tractors? The farmer creating jobs and building industries through processing? When they see more of this, a change in mindset can begin,” he said.
He stressed that deliberate planning is required to use digital platforms effectively, noting that well-crafted content can inspire a new generation to see agriculture as a viable and rewarding career path.
