The leadership of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) in the Builsa North Municipality has officially commissioned its new municipal office, naming the facility in honour of the Association’s First Vice President, Samuel Alagkora Akolgo.
The office, located on the premises of the Sandema Hospital, is fully equipped with a computer, printer, and essential administrative tools to streamline the Association’s operations within the municipality.
The building’s façade proudly bears the inscription: “Buluk Pride: Samuel Alagkora Akolgo GRNMA Office.”
Speaking at the colorful commissioning ceremony, the Municipal Chairman of the GRNMA, Mr Ashiley Nii Ayitey, described the establishment of the office as a landmark achievement and a testament to the branch’s evolution.
“We are proud to officially inaugurate our Municipal Office, a symbol of our growth, organization, and commitment to strengthening the structures that support our members. This office is not just a building—it represents a home for advocacy, collaboration, and progress,” Mr Ayitey stated.
The honoree, Mr Akolgo, who is both a legal practitioner and a veteran anesthetist with decades of service at the Sandema Hospital, expressed profound emotion during the event.
“I am overwhelmed by this honor. I was simply contributing to the development of the Association with the hope of leaving a positive mark. I did not realize that mark would be significant enough for the Municipality to honour me in this way,” Mr Akolgo said.
He expressed gratitude to the Municipal leadership and the Almighty God for the guidance and protection throughout his career.
The event was graced by regional executives of the Association led by Mr Moses Salifu Duut, its Second Vice Regional Chairman, Hajia Maria Fusieni, the Municipal Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer and members across the Municipality.
