Popular Upper East TikTok creator Apandoo Apunga, widely known as “Bolga Killer Kayoore,” has called on content creators in the region to put aside divisions and work together to promote the culture, talent, and image of the Upper East Region.
Speaking on Bolga FM’s Buuri Malema Sanga programme, Apunga said a lack of collaboration among creators is slowing the growth of digital content creation in the area.
He said unity among creators would increase visibility for local talent and create more opportunities on national and international platforms.
Apunga urged TikTokers to work as a team to promote the region’s culture and positive stories rather than competing in ways that undermine collective progress.
As part of his initiative, he announced plans to tour smock-producing communities across the Upper East Region.
He said the initiative is aimed at showcasing and marketing the region’s traditional smock to a global audience, thereby creating economic opportunities for local weavers and artisans.
The move is expected to highlight the craftsmanship behind Bolga fugu and connect weavers to wider markets through digital platforms.
Apunga also cautioned young women on the kind of content they post online, warning against content that overly exposes the body. He said such posts could affect future education and job opportunities.
He noted that many organisations and employers now review the online presence of potential employees, making a positive digital image important.
Touching on the region’s entertainment industry, Apunga said growth has been slow due to inadequate support for emerging talent.
He called on stakeholders, investors, and entertainment enthusiasts to support local creatives and build platforms to help the industry grow.
He said that with unity, creativity, and collaboration, the Upper East Region can become a stronger force in Ghana’s digital content and entertainment space.
