President Akufo-Addo just inaugurated Committees to see to the planning of celebrations as the country readies to celebrate 60 years of independence from colonial rule.
Ghana after gaining her independence from the British in 1957 will celebrate her Diamond Jubilee come March 6 this year which is seven weeks away.
In an effort to ensure the celebrations are orderly and to curb any unwanted spendings, the President today unveiled a planning committee to steer the affairs of the august event.
At the unveiling of the Committee, President Akufo-Addo mentioned that the celebrations will be modest considering the financial standing of the country.
The Committee to steer affairs of the August event is chaired by Mr. Ken Amankwah and Deputy Chief of staff, Abu Jinapor as his deputy.
