The Ghana Bar Association has expressed concerns over the general lawlessness prevailing in the country and has called on security agencies to step up their activities to ensure that peace, rule of law and the security of the country is guaranteed.
In a statement to express their condolences to the bereaved family, the association said it finds mob actions purportedly to punish suspected or alleged offenders is very unacceptable and an affront to the rule of law adding that it is a grave threat to democracy.
It called on security and law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly to ensure that the culprits are brought tojustice to serve as a deterent to other like-minded persons.
The statement, however, underscored the need for all concerned to exercise restraint, not to take the law into their own hand.
