The Chairman of the Upper East regional chapter of the Ghana Journalist Association, Eric Amoh has asked the Upper East regional coordinating council to accord the Journalists in the region respect in 2018.
According to him, it is high time the regional coordinating council secures a good vehicle to convey Journalists who go on assignment with coordinating council.
Recalling the ordeal of some Journalists who were provided with a rickety Benz Bus during the visit of President Nana Akufo-Addo he indicated that “Apart from organizing ourselves in the office, the RCC has not been doing us the best of favours. Most of our colleagues in the various regions have their own media vehicles that sometimes is able to move with the Presidency. The last time the President visited the region, it was sad that our colleagues had to sit in a Benz bus rented from the GPRTU offices. In fact, when I heard it I called PRO…Let my people come back. It is not wise for you to use a Benz bus to chase a Landcruiser” he said”.
He also appealed for support to rent an office space for the GJA in the region to enable it to discharge its functions properly.
