The Upper East Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Shiekh Tahir Saeed has passed on. This is according to reports reaching A1 News.
The circumstances surrounding his death are still unknown. Shiekh would be laid to rest in keeping with the Islamic faith.
The Regional Chief Imam was recently in the news for asking his colleagues at the various Districts and Municipalities to use Friday prayers (Jum’ah) to promote peace in disturbed areas in the region.
According to Alhaji Shiek Tahir Saeed, peace and tranquillity are the only roadmaps to building a prosperous society.
He said, “… Bawku, Doba and Kandiga deserve better and we as peace-loving people owe it a duty to ask Allah for His mercifulness. From now onwards, Jum’ah should be used to promote peace and unity. We have come a long way as people and a region.”
