Earl International Group (GH) Gold Limited has dismissed a worker captured in a circulating video physically assaulting some alleged illegal miners who reportedly entered the company’s underground mining area.
In a statement dated October 27, 2026, the company said preliminary investigations indicated that the individuals in the video were illegal miners apprehended for allegedly operating unlawfully within its underground mining area and were not employees of the company.
Earl Group strongly condemned the assault, describing the conduct as unacceptable and inconsistent with its values and principles.
The company stressed that although it condemned illegal mining, the alleged intrusion did not justify assault, physical abuse or any form of unlawful treatment.
Management said the worker had been identified and dismissed with immediate effect following the incident. It added that further disciplinary measures had also been taken in accordance with its internal procedures.
Earl Group reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful working environment and ensuring that everyone within its operational areas was treated fairly and in accordance with the law.
“The company does not tolerate violence, physical abuse, or misconduct under any circumstances,” the statement said.
The company also pledged to cooperate fully with the relevant authorities in any investigation into the incident to ensure accountability.
Earl Group expressed regret over the incident and reiterated its commitment to professional conduct, safety and responsible mining practices across its operations.
The statement was issued by the Corporate Affairs department of Earl International Group (GH) Gold Limited.
