Information reaching a1radioonline.com suggests that the Bridge connecting Garu Tempane district to the Bawku municipality in the upper east region has collapsed leaving residents stranded.
Garu is one of the most vibrant commercial towns in the upper east region and this truncation of road network according to residents would negatively affect their businesses.
Reasons surrounding the collapse of the bridge has not yet been identified but residents say the bridge has not been maintained since its construction in 2007.
With the current state of the bridge, Garu Tempane could be cut off from Bawku Municipality if immediate steps are not taken .
