Bongo District Assembly to Use Part of $1 Million per Constituency to Build a Mortuary
District chief Executive of Bongo, Peter Ayinbisa has hinted that the assembly intends to use part of its share of government’s $1 million dollar per constituency to construct an ultramodern morgue for its district hospital.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo, during the 2016 election campaign promised to support each constituency in the country with a $1 million dollar. The fund aims at assisting the assemblies to execute some major projects instead of relying of support from central government which often delays in getting to the assemblies.

The Bongo district hospital currently stores bodies in a zinc structured facility a situation contrary to modern health practice. In order to address this challenge, Mr. Ayinbisa during the assembly’s town hall meeting disclosed the assembly “intends to use part of the $1 million per constituency to construct a modern morgue for the district hospital. We have lived in this district for God knows how many years, governments have come and gone and nothing is done about the mortuary”
As part of measures to improve on the health care delivery in the district he stated that the assembly shall purchase a well-equipped ambulance while construct new Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound to boost health delivery in the district.
The assembly also intends to use part of its share of the $1 million dollar policy to construct slaughter houses at Bongo, Zorko, Soe and Beo markets.
