A1 Radio Sports Journalist, Henry Samani, has said the expose by Ace Investigative Journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, on ill happenings at the Ghana Football Association can have immeasurable undesirable effects on the future of the association.

According to him, the actions of the football administrator as captured in Anas’ undercover piece, questions the credibility of the association and the local league and has the propensity of causing fear in prospective football investors.

“If you look at what had happened over the years with regards to football in the country, it has questioned the credibility of the association and the local league. It has indeed.

“With this expose or this news, definitely it will give a lot of investors who would want to come into football in the country a second thought, because they think if this has happened then it shows that indeed things are not going well in the Ghana Football Association and I will scare away investors”.

Speaking on Day Break Upper East on A1 Radio, Henry Samani continued that there are chances Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi might have driven away some investors with his fraudulent actions.

“Some of us are privy and have watched some portions of the expose and we have been able to get the facts of the videos. It shows that some people who wanted to come into the country to sponsor or promote football in the country were asked by him to organize matches or games to see if they will be able to fix matches wherever they find themselves. He probably scared some of them away with this”. Henry added.

President Nana Akufo-Addo on Tuesday ordered the arrest of President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi, for defrauding by false pretenses and influence peddling.

The President ordered the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to arrest the GFA capo who is currently out of the country after being privy to investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Number 12 undercover documentary, which exposed the GFA president as using the name of the president for certain purposes.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas has scheduled 6 June to premier the undercover piece at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) which took him over two years to put together.

The documentary which was done in partnership with the BBC focused sports and politics and expectations are rife the investigative piece will bring Ghana football the much talked about change it needs.
