Two months after he assured residents of his district of fixing school buildings affected by windstorm, the District Chief Executive of Binduri says the assembly has reroofed all the affected buildings.

This followed a complaint by one Apam Nuhu who accused the DCE in May this year of neglecting the affected school buildings including Yalugu Ahmadiyya Primary School. But speaking on DayBreak Upper East on Monday, the DCE, Yakubu Abagre, said all the affected buildings have been refixed.

According to the concerned citizen, the storm destroyed a greater part of the area and a school structure thereby hampering effective teaching and learning. He bemoaned the slow approach of the Chief Executive in addressing the plight of school.

At the time, the DCE, Mr. Abagre, explained that it was through his visits that facilitated repair works on some of the ruined health compounds in the area. He further explained that shortage of material had stalled repair works on other affected structures including the Yalugu Ahmadiyya Primary School but assured measures were been put in place to have all them refixed.

Checks by A1 Radio on the affected structures on Saturday indicated those structures have been worked on.

“I can confirm to you now, that all the affected rainstorm areas are 100% completed with repairs. We actually procured some materials for the affected areas to be worked on; it was raining seriously and was not good for children to be learning in such circumstance without any good protection.” The DCE said.

Mr. Apam Nuhu who reported the issue to A1 radio also spoke on the programme confirmed the refixing of the problems and expressed satisfaction especially with the fulfillment of the promise the DCE made on A1 Radio.
